  1. A minimum of three (3) letters of recommendation to forward to hiring agencies upon request. A maximum of five (5) letters will be sufficient.
  2. Sources of Letters of Recommendation:
    1. Student teaching supervisors
    2. Master teachers
    3. Supervisors Principals
    4. College instructors
    5. Previous employers
  3. Letter of Recommendation Guidelines:
    1. Request assurance of a favorable recommendation.
    2. Ask letter writers to describe your strengths, giving examples.
    3. Give writers ample time to write your letter.
    4. All letters should be typed, signed, and dated.
    5. All letters should be on letterhead stationery.
  1. Keep your file in a safe, fire-proof place.
  2. Always use a high quality duplicating machine when making copies of your file.
  3. Neatness is essential. Remember, your file is the first impression an employer will have of you.
