School districts throughout California and the nation are developing web sites that post positions and allow for on-line applications. Many school districts are only accepting formal applications via the Internet as they move to a "paperless office" environment. In short, the use of Confidential Placement Files has significantly diminished and will continue to do so.
Career Services has explored the current practices both in the school districts and other universities throughout the state and finds that Self-Managed files are the most practical solution for teacher candidates. The advantages of Self-Managed files include:
