Students who find their own internship opportunity in the area of
literature or writing can usually arrange for credit through an English
or Comparative Literature 499 Special Study. Students are supervised
by the organization where they are completing their internship, yet
meet periodically with their faculty advisor. Most faculty advisors
require at least a final paper to be written about the internship.
It is the student's responsibility to find a faculty advisor to 'sponsor'
the internship.
Internships are available for graduate students to work on Poetry
International or Fiction International. These internships are supervised
and are available for credit. Up to 3 credits can be earned dependent
on the number of hours worked.
