A little bit about myself

Personal Interests : Literature, films, martial arts and a long list of apparently incompatible items.

Dislikes : Violence, inequality, selfishness, unethical behavior and being on the spotlight.

EGOal (fantasy) : To be called Dr. Rodriguez someday and marvel others with my “newly” acquired knowledge.

Ultimate Goal : To make the world a better place for our children while remaining anonymous.

I obtained a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling at SDSU and a Bachelor of Arts from UC Berkeley.  I am certified by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) and hold a current membership with the American Counseling Association (ACA).

I have 10 years of experience providing counseling and support services to diverse populations in non-profit and academic settings.  I strongly believe in the ability of the human being to overcome barriers.  This belief is partially responsible for my interest in sociopolitical/educational research, individuals with disabilities, first-generation and underrepresented students.  My counseling focus is to provide the tools to help individuals become self-sufficient and life-long learners.
